Tbilisi to host UEFA Super Cup 2015

Great news for Georgian football fans – the UEFA Executive Committee has awarded UEFA Super Cup to Tbilisi in 2015. The UEFA Super Cup is an annual football match between the reigning champions of the Champions League and the Europa League. The game will be held at the newly renovated Mikheil Meshki Stadium.

This won’t be the only big sports event that Tbilisi will host in 2015, same year European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) will also take place in Georgia’s capital. The question is will the Georgian Football Federation enlarge Mikheil Meskhi Stadium or not, because currently it can only host up to 27,000 people.
